Here are Staccato Music Studio’s policies. Registration implies agreement with the items listed below.


The $88.00 down payment for tuition is non-refundable. All post-dated cheques or a void cheque for monthly payments must be submitted on or before the first class to secure your lesson time. Any NSF payments will be subject to a fee of $20.00.

If you wish to cancel, written notice must be provided and you will be charged an additional month’s tuition installment. You can choose whether or not you wish to attend for that next month.  No refunds will be given for cancellations that occur on or after March 1, 2022

No credits or refunds are granted for missed classes.

Make-Up Lessons

Notice by 9:00 am the day of your child’s lesson is required if you would like to request a make-up lesson.  Requests will only be accepted for illness or family emergency. There is a limit of 2 make-ups per year and they are subject to instructor availability.  No make-up lessons, credits or refunds will be granted in the event that the studio is closed due to extreme weather conditions.  Any studio closures will be posted on the voice mail greeting.

Pick-Up and Drop-Off

You agree to be 5 minutes early in picking up your child after class. This allows time to talk with your child’s instructor. You are also responsible for the care and supervision of your child before and after the lesson.

Additional policies for Dancing on the Keys Group Piano:

  • Full payment is due upon registration to reserve your child’s place in a class.
  • No refunds will be granted for missed classes. Make-up classes are only scheduled if space is available in another class. We are happy to send you the lesson plan for the missed class upon request. There is a limit of one make-up class per session and it must be scheduled within the session. Make-ups are non-transferable to future sessions. 
  • The minimum enrollment per a class is 4. The maximum enrollment per a class is 6. Classes may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. In this event, all families would be notified prior to the first class and a refund or alternate class time would be offered. 
  • If a cancellation occurs before the first class, the tuition will be refunded minus a $10.00 processing fee. If the cancellation occurs after the first class, the tuition will be refunded less $50.00. If the cancellation occurs after the second class no refunds or credits will be issued. Written notice of your cancellation is required.

If any staff member witnesses vandalism by a student to any of the studio equipment or instruments, the student or student’s parent(s) will be responsible for the cost of repair or replacement of any studio property.


Please refrain from sending your child to their lesson if they have flu-like symptoms (fever, vomiting, etc.), a bad cold accompanied by a persistent cough, or a communicable disease.  Students will be sent home if they are ill.

Promotional Release

Students may appear in Staccato Music Studios promotional or educational materials or media which may include visual or audio representation.

By registering for a Staccato Music Studios program you have given your implied consent to receive our email newsletters in accordance with CASL. You may withdraw your consent by unsubscribing at any time.
